THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL Making a living from your creative talent | |
| Description | Many young creative people start out with great dreams of carving a life earning a living from the thing they love. In this event we are looking to demonstrate that a career can be forged in the creative industries but that creative talent is not all you will need. Students are from Art, Media, Fashion, Music, Graphic Design and Photography. Each curriculum area will be responding to an appropriate brief. We are after experts from any industry background to play the role of a client and also experts with direct industry experience of the creative sectors the students are studying. This is a one day enterprise event aimed at raising the aspirations of students, building their confidence and ultimately making them more employable once they take the big step from education into the world of work. There are going to be 330 students and 33 business experts taking part. The students are put through a series of 12-minute meetings in different areas of business with the experts. The students have to take on board the experts’ advice to help them to prepare for their presentations. The Dragons then come together to form a panel of judges and the students then pitch their ideas to the panel. It is run as a competition so the experts decide who wins a cash prize! |
